CLARITY Act Update for XRP Holders: SEC Chair Drops Major Confirmation

Crypto analyst ChartNerd (@ChartNerdTA) posted a video on X that has caught significant attention across the digital asset community. The clip features SEC Chair Paul Atkins speaking on the CLARITY Act, and his remarks carry considerable weight as September 15 approaches. Atkins Speaks on the CLARITY Act Atkins confirmed the Senate vote: “The Clarity Act, as you notice, will be voted on in the Senate on the 15th of September ,” he said. “I anticipate and hope that it will be passed by the Senate and sent ultimately to the president’s desk for a signature.” He also tied the legislation to a larger mission. Atkins described the SEC’s crypto regulation push as “our most historic step yet” to fulfill President Trump’s stated goal of making the U.S. a global crypto capital. The chair’s public support signals strong alignment between the executive branch and the top securities regulator. ChartNerd summarized the moment, calling the two weeks ahead massive. #CLARITY ACT UPDATE SEC Chair Paul Atkins confirms the Clarity Act is heading to a Senate vote on Sept 15th, with the hope of getting things moving and reaching the President's desk Massive Two Weeks Ahead! pic.twitter.com/BrlBqRuzZO — ChartNerd (@ChartNerdTA) September 2, 2026 The SEC Is Already Moving The SEC’s push for crypto regulation extends beyond the CLARITY Act. On September 1, the agency released a major rule proposal to update its decades-old transfer agent rules to account for blockchain technology and tokenized securities. The proposal allows transfer agents to use blockchain as the official record of ownership. Atkins has previously stated the SEC will act using its existing authorities if the CLARITY Act stalls, and the agency is already demonstrating that willingness. Support From Multiple Directions Senate Majority Leader John Thune filed cloture before the August recess. That move secured the bill its scheduled floor time. The cloture vote is set for September 15 at 2 p.m., confirmed publicly by Senator Cynthia Lummis . House Majority Whip Tom Emmer is frustrated because the Senate has not yet acted on the bill . The House did its part over a year ago. All Eyes On September 15 As one community member pointed out , the September 15 vote is a procedural cloture vote, not the final passage vote. ChartNerd replied that good things take time. If the bill clears 60 votes, the Senate then has a 30-hour window before a final vote that requires only 50 votes, with the Vice President available to break a tie. The bill has broad support, and September 15 is the next important date to watch. Disclaimer : This content is meant to inform and should not be considered financial advice.
